Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival – Lang Son – Overnight in Lang Son (Lunch/Dinner)

Your journey begins with your arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

A friendly tour guide and driver will greet you and whisk you away on a scenic drive to Lang Son, a border city known for its rugged landscapes and vibrant markets (approx. 154 km).

Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch featuring local specialties. Depend on your flight, there are two options today. 

Option 1: If you arrive after 12:00, we will visit Tam Thanh Temple in Lang Son, a tranquil 13th-century Buddhist site carved into a mountainside cave, offering ancient statues, rock formations, and sweeping countryside views. 

Option 2: If you arrive in the morning (about 9 am), we will visit Dong Lam Meadow, the grassland of 100ha surrounded by green karst mountains.

Later, check into a comfortable hotel in Lang Son city and savor dinner at a nearby restaurant. Rest up for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Lang Son – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Overnight in Cao Bang City (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Start your day with a hearty buffet breakfast at the hotel, featuring Vietnamese pho, fresh fruits, and more. Then, set off on a picturesque drive to Cao Bang (approx. 140 km), passing through rolling hills and rural villages. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant in Trung Khanh.

 

Afterward, head to Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking natural wonders, where multi-tiered cascades straddle the Vietnam-China border amid lush greenery—perfect for photos and soaking in the misty ambiance.

 

Next, explore Nguom Ngao Cave, a nearby limestone marvel with dramatic stalactites and stalagmites illuminated in an otherworldly glow. Return to Cao Bang city, check into a hotel and enjoy dinner with regional flavors.

Day 3: Cao Bang – Meo Vac – Dong Van – Overnight in Dong Van (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, embark on a scenic drive to Meo Vac (approx. 160 km) through the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, a UNESCO-recognized region of jagged peaks and ethnic minority villages.

Stop in Meo Vac for lunch, savoring mountain specialties. Then, take a relaxing boat ride on the Nho Que River, where turquoise waters wind through steep cliffs beneath the towering Ma Pi Leng Pass. Continue to Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of Vietnam’s “Four Great Passes,” and pause at a viewpoint to admire the jaw-dropping vistas of deep valleys and rugged mountains. Arrive in Dong Van town, check into a hotel and enjoy dinner featuring H’mong cuisine.

Day 4: Dong Van – Yen Minh – Quan Ba – Overnight in Quan Ba (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Begin with a buffet breakfast at the hotel, then visit Lung Cu Flag Tower, Vietnam’s northernmost point, offering panoramic views of terraced fields and distant Chinese hills.

 

Next, explore Lo Lo Chai Village, a remote H’mong settlement with traditional stilt houses and colorful textiles. Stop by Vuong Palace, a historic 20th-century mansion blending Vietnamese, Chinese, and French architectural styles, built by a H’mong king. Enjoy lunch with fresh mountain vegetables and local meats.

In the afternoon, drive to Quan Ba (approx. 70 km) and visit Lung Cam Village, known for its picturesque scenery and weaving traditions, followed by Tham Ma Pass, a winding road with stunning valley views. Check into a hotel in Quan Ba and dine on local specialties.

Day 5: Quan Ba – Ha Giang – Lam Thuong – Overnight in Lam Thuong (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Enjoy breakfast at hotel, this morning you spend time to explore around the Hmong village resort. Check out the hotel about about 9h30 then head to Twin Mountain, from here you can admire the panoramic view point of Tam Son valley.

Stop at Quan Ba Sky Gate, one of great stop over on journey exploring the Happy Road. We then head to Hagiang city for having lunch in a local restaurant.

The afternoon finds us in lush drive through to Lam Thuong valley which is home to Tay ethnic minority people. We settle in a lodge nestled by the charming river. Enjoy dinner with local dishes and relax.

 

Day 6: Lam Thuong Sighseeing - Overnight in Lam Thuong (Breakfast/ Lunch/Dinner)

Wake up and stroll around the village to experience the authentic way of life in a peaceful hamlet in North West Vietnam. Slowly enjoy breakfast prepared by the lodge.

9h30, we start walking to the Nam Chan waterfall (5km). Relax by the river, you even can swim in clear water from the jungle. Today we prepare a picnic lunch for you (if nice weather) like a BBQ party by the river in the forest with all fresh ingridients grown in this region.

After lunch, we head to the place to take bamboo rafting on river and go back to the lodge. Time is spent to relax, massage or take the herbal bath.

Having dinner in homestay then join the traditional dance show with local, be ready to sing and dance together.

 

Day 7: Lam Thuong - Hanoi Sightseeing – Overnight in Hanoi (Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner) 

Having breakfast then check out at 9am. We start our journey to Hanoi which is about 4 hours drive.

We have lunch in a local restaurant in Hanoi. This afternoon finds us in the unique Train Street, sit down in a little coffee shop and have a drink, wait for the moment the huge Train passes by in front you. After that, we head to visit Tran Quoc Budhist Temple and admire the sunset in West Lake (if nice weather). Freetime to shopping (if time permitted)

Go back Enjoy the buffet dinner at Sen Tay Ho – the biggest buffet restaurant in Hanoi.

Check in hotel and free time to explore the Old quarter area.

 

Day 8: Hanoi Departure (Breakfast)

Enjoy a final buffet breakfast at the hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, take some free time to explore Hanoi’s Old Quarter or relax. Later, transfer to Noi Bai International Airport (approx. 45 minutes) for your departure. Safe travel home!
